Yes, I borrowed that title from Castle. You're Welcome.
It has been a little time since my last post, have faith- I have plenty to tell about. Classes, work, men. Let's start with men.
Okay I lied, beat for last!
Since arriving in Rhode Island, I have met many people. I have a hard time remembering all of my classmates' names, since we only meet once a week for all three. I have, however, two from 502 and 504 memorized- that would be my newly made friends Kirsten and Brendan. As for 510, there is Anne, my roommate Gracey, and Gillian- a woman who interviewed me for the West Warwick reference position a few weeks ago.(I did not get it, btw, but I am getting there.) On top of that, I now have a position as a bartista at the Dunkin Donuts on campus. One observation is that the people here are much more fun and friendly than the position I held this summer.
On the class front, I feel as though I have a better sense of what my teachers expect of me. And, with a fill-time schedule as well as part-time work, I find myself keeping very detailed lists to keep my head above water. For example, yesterday I worked 9-5, and then had to go home, eat while I watched an episode of Castle(surprised right?), and then do all of my readings for 504 before bed. That left me with a half an hour to settle in before bed(9.30 because I worked at 6am today) and Friday or Saturday to do the 504 assignment. Today, the plan is work(done!), Stonington CT 2nd interview(where I sit presently, awaiting 3pm, Wish me luck! I really want this job!) And then home to eat dinner, read my 502 work, post my 502 reflection, and wind down with TrueBlood or Castle. Tomorrow, the rest of Tuesday's assignment.
Now I can talk about men, where I meant to begin but got sidetracked from. I have met three men of interest since moving to Rhode Island. Talking with people is easy enough for an extrovert, but connecting and feeling out the vine is another thing. At King Richard's Faire. I gave my number to a gentleman at a leather shop. I hadn't done that since high school!(I have always been in a relationship since then with people that made the first move) and it was a really big step for me; it meant I was coming out of my bad relationship crash from March that I hadn't gotten over previously. Second, there was a guy I spent over an hour talking to at my beach, but we didn't really swap info Or make plans, he was just rally chill, easy to talk to, and good for local advice. And now there is the mystery pharmacy man today. Whom I have the largest crush on. I think I discovered his name today, but more importantly I learned hw is in his last year. When people say that they usually mean December graduation. So instead of talking it slow, I jumped at an opportunity when he came in twice in one day- full of smiles both times mind you. I wrote my number on his coffee cup with my marker. My co-workers called me their hero lol. We'll see. Wish me luck all around!
