Over 200 Views: I Reveal My Top Ten Men

Oh yes.  I am celebrating your views by sharing my most intimate interests.  I'm sharing with you which men I place in my top ten.  I'm going to try to keep them in order but...they're just too wonderful.  This should be fun.

I lied.  Not just ten.

#11& 12) Neil Patrick Harris & Jim Parsons: I've watched NPH on HIMYM for years and, yes, I know he's gay(they both are) but that's part of why I love him.  NPH's a bold, strong man who takes risks.  Besides, his 'horrible' side is sweet yet badass.  JP, Playing a nerdy physicist on The Big Bang Theory, this guy has such a sweet smile.  Hell, he has all of the expressions and, as an actor, his physicality is wonderful.  His cameo in The Muppets was great!

 Now for real :{ ]

#10) Chris Hemsworth: God of Thunder.  God of Abs.  God of Commitment.  God in Australia?  There's something to be said about that...
#12) Young Cary Elwes: In his prime, he was perfect. Great comedic timing, gorgeous baby blues, and wit to charm. http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/03/04/cary-elwes/

#9) Young Cary Elwes:  In his prime, he was perfect.  Great comedic timing, gorgeous baby blues, and wit to charm.  I still swoon watching Robin Hood Men in Tights and The Princess Bride.

#8) Ian Sommerhalder: Smoldering eyes, he plays a vampire, and his dark hair-blue eyes combo is to die for.  (He use to be higher up in my list, but apparently he's rumoured to be engaged to Nina Dobrev.)

#7) Alexander Skarsgård : Starring opposite of Joe Manganiello is this fine and brooding man.  He's Norse, that's all I need to say.

#6) Joe Manganiello: His dark hair, strong jaw, and, with roles like Alcide, he makes my blood hot.  Not to mention that firefighter spot in Magic Mike- I've got a thing for firefighters...

#5)Matt Smith: The current Doctor.  Technically, he's what some people might call an ugly-hot (not attractive to many, very attractive to some) but I just...I don't know, there's something..super attractive about him.  The bow-tie? His lovely personality in interviews?  His sound effects?  His devilish smile? The fact that he's guest starred in two of my dreams this month...

#4) David Tennet: Scottish is my Achilles' heel.  Enough said.  Now sonic me Doctor ;D

#3) Jason Segel: I've been into this guy for years on HIMYM.  Why?  He's hilarious(Marshall :] ), for one, and for two he has a body that reads "I'm strong and can protect you."  Plus, uh hello, he brought The Muppets back!  Do you know how huge this is for me??

#2) Joseph Gordon-Levitt: He dresses sharp, shows amazing versatility in his acting, and he can sing...in French.  Oo la la.

The Officer and the Gentleman

Yes, I borrowed that title from Castle. You're Welcome.

It has been a little time since my last post, have faith- I have plenty to tell about.  Classes, work, men. Let's start with men.

Okay I lied, beat for last!

Since arriving in Rhode Island, I have met many people. I have a hard time remembering all of my classmates' names, since we only meet once a week for all three. I have, however, two from 502 and 504 memorized- that would be my newly made friends Kirsten and Brendan.  As for 510, there is Anne, my roommate Gracey, and Gillian- a woman who interviewed me for the West Warwick reference position a few weeks ago.(I did not get it, btw, but I am getting there.)  On top of that, I now have a position as a bartista at the Dunkin Donuts on campus.  One observation is that the people here are much more fun and friendly than the position I held this summer.

On the class front, I feel as though I have a better sense of what my teachers expect of me. And, with a fill-time schedule as well as part-time work, I find myself keeping very detailed lists to keep my head above water. For example, yesterday I worked 9-5, and then had to go home, eat while I watched an episode of Castle(surprised right?), and then do all of my readings for 504 before bed.  That left me with a half an hour to settle in before bed(9.30 because I worked at 6am today) and Friday or Saturday to do the 504 assignment.  Today, the plan is work(done!), Stonington CT 2nd interview(where I sit presently, awaiting 3pm, Wish me luck! I really want this job!) And then home to eat dinner, read my 502 work, post my 502 reflection, and wind down with TrueBlood or Castle. Tomorrow, the rest of Tuesday's assignment.

Now I can talk about men, where I meant to begin but got sidetracked from. I have met three men of interest since moving to Rhode Island.  Talking with people is easy enough for an extrovert, but connecting and feeling out the vine is another thing.  At King Richard's Faire. I gave my number to a gentleman at a leather shop.  I hadn't done that since high school!(I have always been in a relationship since then with people that made the first move) and it was a really big step for me; it meant I was coming out of my bad relationship crash from March that I hadn't gotten over previously. Second, there was a guy I spent over an hour talking to at my beach, but we didn't really swap info Or make plans, he was just rally chill, easy to talk to, and good for local advice. And now there is the mystery pharmacy man today. Whom I have the largest crush on. I think I discovered his name today, but more importantly I learned hw is in his last year. When people say that they usually mean December graduation. So instead of talking it slow, I jumped at an opportunity when he came in twice in one day- full of smiles both times mind you. I wrote my number on his coffee cup with my marker. My co-workers called me their hero lol. We'll see. Wish me luck all around!

Craig Ferguson, Matt Smith, and Anne Marie

Updated from first week of September:
Lately, travel has been on my mind.  Ever since watching David Tennant in the Doctor Who S05 interviews, which, if you haven't seen it, is quite funny and actually really cool.  For instance, in the Sontarian cloning episode, they had to train the stunt guy in the clone suit to not need his eyes to see!  Anyways!  He's Scottish(I know right!) and since then I have been realizing how nice it would be to travel during, between, or after the obtainment of my masters.  In that disc, David went to Pompeii, Whales, and a bunch of other set locations- as does Matt Smith.  I have wanted to go back to London for a while- it's been almost six years!- but travel, when you don't have time to plan or go, then, well, it doesn't get anywhere.  But, since taking on this endeavor to go to Rhode Island, I feel very empowered.  And it is starting to seep into my dreams.
A few days ago I caught up to the end of season six in Doctor Who and shortly after watched a few interviews between Craig Ferguson & Karen Gillan, as well as Matt Smith.  Then, a few nights ago, I had a dream about Matt Smith.  I met him, was very flustered, and we went out to a Scottish pub for beer- as simple as that.  Now, I am not entirely sure if I find Matt Smith attractive, not physically anyway, but in personality- very highly so.  Well perhaps my subconscious is trying to push him onto me....wait.
So, then last night I had another dream about Scotland.  Nothing was recognizable, as I have never been there, but it was gorgeous.  At work today I spent my lunch break talking to a woman named Anne-Marie.  She grew up there and her college hometown was Edinburgh, Scotland.  She told me about the pubs, youth hostels, and an August carnivale of sorts.  It was a lovely and vivid conversation that ended with her offer to give me tourist advice if I should end up across the pond.  I really want to go.  As I think I have mentioned before, Scottish men are my Achilles heel.
Update:  Edinburgh might be my topic of focus for a course I am taking this fall.  (See Courses, Faires, and Castle- Oh My)

Course, Faires, and Castle- oh my!

It sounds like I am about to give a lecture, ut it is quite the opposite.  It has been quite a while for me, blogging and chatting with you viewers, because I have been in my first weeks of classes.  This is my first semester as a graduate student.  I decided to take things light and playful, with only three courses to start.  I am taking LSC(why it is LSC instead of ILS, I have no idea) 502, which is focused on making me into library management/ director material.  This class should be interesting because I feel like I had a really good experience with my director at the FPL.  She was very knowledgeable and I want to learn more about what she does behind the scenes.  It should be an easy course because it is online- though t would seem there are things to be forgotten...- if not for light reading, then for my class partner.  We just held a Skype conversation where we co-wrote an entire essay that isn't due until next Wednesday.  Jurronimo!
Another class  have is LSC 504, information and reference services.  This class will be relevant to me if I get a full-time assistant reference librarian position I interview for last week.  It will be relevant or the future of course, but more so at present.  504 has also proved to give me a few smart "choice words" at an interview I had today, assistant children's librarian, in that I had some context to library science n which to answer the age old question of "If a child, say ten, want to check out_, which may be intended for _ age range, do you let them check out the book?"  My first answer was that I would need to be familiar with and assured of the library's policy's regarding this query.  My old library ran with the library bill of rights in that we didn't believe in censorship or restriction of patrons, and to stress this we made adults aware that young patrons were their responsibility when signing them up.  As a result, we ran into fewer issues.  I think this answer, which was much smarter at the time and full of more catchphrases from my 504 textbook, did well by them.  Afterall, the interview was forty-five minutes long.  I really want this job.
Lastly is my LSC 510 class.  This course I took as an elective.  For fun.  I seem to be sorely mistaken.  The syllabus is far more intense than the other two courses, all of which are "beginners" courses.  The teacher has a nice backgound, but there are at least a dozen books, all of which are highly overpriced.  So, I will be spending a lot of time in my library, as well as others, doing the 100+ page assignments each week.  While it meets in person and I can take plenty of notes, I dread the one week where there are over 300 pages of reading....
Moving on.  I have made a few friends amongst my classes and tomorrow have a coffee "date" to get to know one of them more.  She lives alone and we both agreed we are in desperate need to find out how to make friends as freshman again.  If tomorrow goes well, I will not only have joined a club, but I will have made my first Rhode Island friend that is not my roommate.  (Roommate, I love you, but I want more people so we can play Apples to Apples and Pirate Munchkin :D )
So, while I am not sure when I will get my first paycheck, I really can't complain.  I can watch Doctor Who on Saturdays as it airs on the BBC.  I can read or swim in the ocean that is slightly up the road from me.  The land is flat so that I can go running more consistently.  I have unlimited streaming, which means I can catch up on Castle before the season five premier.  I have electricity, meaning I can use a toaster or perk coffee- something I neglected before the summer.  And there are all new, shiny straight guys.  I have already begun to be able to spot smokers and fratboys, now if only I can find the hot nerds....
...speaking of nerds! King Richard's Faire began last weekend and, as always, it was awesome!  I was really surprised that there were still new things for me to see.  While there were a few hurdles with friends that day, I was able to see The Tale of the Tiger, Jacques Ze Whippeur, all of the King's Tournament(our guy, Sir Vincent the Vain(only the second half of that is my naming)  the frenchman wearing gold and purple won!  And a friend of mine gave him his token/favour, which was really cool!  We didn't know you could actually interact with the actors.  Next year!)  as well as other sideshows and shops that I passed.  I was most excited that I did the archery section- shooting twelve arrows at a red heart- and that I found my dragon claw gems, of which I purchased a yellow for last year and a black for this one.  The story to that is that the first year I went I bought a green one, for ten dollars, and decided it was a much better souvenir than the Faire t-shirts.  (Though I bought one that year as well because it made a pun; "joust do it!")  And when I went last year I was unable to find them, which made me le sad.  And then this year, voila!  I intend to keep this tradition but, next year, I am switching back to going in October, when the weather is cooler and cloaks are fashionable.
So, until next time my viewers, wish me luck and good night!
